Raleigh DWI lawyer Ben Hiltzheimer was recently recognized by the American Society of Legal Advocates as a Top 40 Lawyer Under 40 in the state of North Carolina for his criminal defense work. According to ASLAs website, the organizations selection process is conducted manually by attorneys and includes an analysis of an attorneys verdicts, educational accomplishments, demonstrated legal achievement, among other criteria.
Mr. Hiltzheimer has been practicing law for over seven years, and from the beginning has been committed to representing the interests of the accused. He obtained his law degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and was trained in criminal defense by the nations pre-eminent public defender agency, the federally funded Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS). As an attorney at PDS, Mr. Hiltzheimer worked on systemic criminal justice issues in conjunction with the Innocence Project, as well as in the role of trial attorney in DCs Superior Court where he represented indigent individuals charged with felonies in the District. From there, he relocated to North Carolina, where he now runs his own practice as a Raleigh DWI lawyer and is honored to accept this recognition as a Top 40 Lawyer Under 40 in the state.
